Lauren Lacorcia has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine since 2009. She is a 1999 University of Melbourne Veterinary graduate, completed a rotating internship at the University and obtained a Master of Veterinary Science degree there researching feline lungworm. She attained membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Medicine in 2004. Her Residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine was completed at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Lauren subsequently worked in private specialty referral practice in the United Kingdom before returning home in 2013. She enjoyed teaching, clinical work and research as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne until early 2021, gaining additional teaching qualifications and co-authoring multiple journal articles and textbook contributions along the way.
Lauren is excited to join the team at VRH where the focus is on exceptional care and communication provided by experts in multiple disciplines. Her fields of interest include urinary disease, gastrointestinal disease, hepatology, immune-mediated and haematologic diseases and respiratory medicine.
When not working Lauren enjoys spending time with her family, cat Beatrice and kelpie Vespa. Interests include cooking, running, travel, art and reading.
