Emily
Medicine Nurse
AssocDeg Veterinary Nursing
Emily has been nursing for over 6 years and in this time worked in various roles including as a Surgical and Emergency nurse at a Speciality Veterinary Hospital.
Emily’s passion is intensive care nursing. She also enjoys providing continuity of care and caring for her patients from the beginning to the end of their hospital journey. Building close patient bonds and getting to know her patients and clients is also a rewarding aspect of her role. She is always happy to provide that extra time for a nervous patient and respects that building trust whilst creating a positive environment can make all the difference.
Emily speaks about why she enjoys working at VRH:
“I love working at VRH because everyone really works together as a team. We get to see some incredibly interesting cases (like using the endoscope to retrieve a rock out of a puppies lungs!) and to help some very sick patients. I wanted to work here because having all the different specialty departments means that the patients can get all aspects of care at the same hospital!”
Outside of work, Emily loves being outdoors and adventuring (bike riding/hiking). She has a menagerie at home including Tex a bull Arab and Rani a cane corso, a cat called cuddles and two horses Buddy and Cooper.
