We have relocated to Dandenong
Our 24/7 hospital has relocated from Hallam to Dandenong, part of $4.5 million-dollar project into the single largest purpose-designed and built veterinary hospital for the group to date.
Our new state of the art hospital includes an Emergency Department that provides Melbourne residents access to 24/7 pet emergency care when their regular vet is closed, as well as an extended range of top veterinary services.
The hospital is led by one of the broadest teams of specialists and referral clinicians in Melbourne, providing around-the clock optimal standards of veterinary patient care.
Our Emergency teams will continue to provide the highest standards of care 24 hours a day for inpatients, including post-operative and post-procedure patients, as well as managing our dedicated canine and feline Intensive Care Units.
The expansion will increase availability of referral services to the pet owning public across Melbourne, and the integration of Emergency, Intensive Care, Internal Medicine, Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging services and raise the standards of care and improve patient outcomes.
A new 1.5 Tesla – MRI [Magnetic Resonance Imaging] is the focal point of the comprehensive imaging services at VRH, it is the first unit of this specification in a veterinary clinic in Melbourne, it’s the same as you could encounter in human medical facilities.
There are many beneficial features in our new hospital including separate wards for cats and dogs throughout, 15 walk-in runs for larger patients and most significantly dedicated ICU cat and ICU dog wards.
Led by a Specialist in Emergency and Critical Care and supported by two Emergency Critical Care Residents and highly trained, dedicated emergency and critical care clinicians and nurses.
Our teams practise evidence-based medicine at the cutting edge of veterinary knowledge providing multidisciplinary referral services for animals with severe, complex or critical conditions, which require specialised equipment or expertise.
Our hospital is well equipped with on-site diagnostics including point-of-care laboratory, Digital Radiography, Ultrasound, Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This is supported by five surgical theatres and various suites for minimally invasive techniques such as Fluoroscopy (dynamic x-rays), Laparoscopy (key hole surgery) and Endoscopy (video) procedures.
Join us to celebrate our grand opening at our Veterinary Referral Hospital Open Day on Saturday 23rd November.
